Dreaming Out Loud:

I said it out loud, but I guess nobody heard me

I was looking for appreciation and approval,

but no one seamed to either acknowledge or agree

I thought that a handshake, smile, nod of a head,

or a word of encouragement to what I had said

was just what I needed to move me ahead

A pat on the back, or a hug would do

just a few words like “I’m happy for you.”

I guess nobody heard the words that I said, perhaps they

never left my mouth, but spoke in my head

Nevertheless,

I kept my commitment and did what I said I would do

I did it to the best of my abilities following the instructions

of my leaders and the Holy Spirit too

It was said, and done

After a good night’s rest and early call to devotion,

I got the smile and hug, from my Heavenly Father

who watches from above

Those words of encouragement, I got too, only after

I kept my commitment to do what God directed me to do

“Well done, my good and faithful servant, I am proud of you,

now enter into the joy of the Lord already inside of you.”

With worship and praise, I cried great tears of joy,

as I realized God was also saying, “I’ve got your reward.”

It’s waiting in heaven not on the earth, safe and secure, a new jewel in your crown.

Now rest in the Lord, but not too long, for the next jewel in your crown is waiting to be found.

Oh, I didn’t forget, do you want to know what I said?

The words I’m not certain I spoke, but said in my head?

God heard: “I am so happy to have finally found my purpose, and

to have an opportunity to serve in my.”

Thank you Jesus for choosing me and thank you pastors,

for trusting me to serve under your authority.
