Who wants to go fishing? |

Who wants to go fishing? It's nice to have
a comfortable place where we can gather together and fellowship about the goodness of God; but is there anybody interested
in fishing outside of the fish tank? Here, we are building each other up; like iron sharpening iron, but what is being done
to reach others who are in need of this ministry? I know many have done much by publishing books, songs, screen plays and
writing articles for different magazine but does anyone, other than me, want to launch out into the deep? Does anyone have
any ideas of how we can spread shout life so others can be converted?
Don't you want to be fishers of men? Mat. 4:19;
Mark 1:17 When a man turns over control of life in obedience to the Master's Word we will not have to toil and toil without
any results. If we are suffering in a drought perhaps we should examine the word given to us by Christ. We do this by continued
contact through fellowship with Him.
Devotional Text: Luke 5:4-8
Peter and his men had been fishing all night
with no luck. When Christ came on the seen and directed them to launch out He was referring to another realm which is higher
than the physical. This got them some unexpected results for which they had not room enough to carry. We have been SAVED TO
SERVE so if you haven't already done so then for the year of 2007 I challenge you, and myself, to launch out into the deep.
Be ambition in service and expect the unexpected by being prepared to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the many hungry
souls crying out to God today. Use the gifts you have and depend on God. When Christ is with you directing you, failure is
not an option.
We can also experience a draught in our personal life with health, finance, spiritual maturity and family
relationships. This too can be addressed and ministered onto by receiving a word from God. Take advantage of the opportunity
to launch out into the deep through your faith for those areas in your life that are not fully surrendered to Christ. This
could cover many areas such as, smoking, overeating, bad attitude, depression, procrastination, anger, and self righteousness
to name a few. You and God know what areas need work and I would bet some family members and or co workers know a few areas
also. Ask God to take you to new personal depths in prayer, Bible study, and group activities. Then expect an overflow of
blessings to come your way. In Matthew 14: 28 &29 we like to say Peter walk on the water just like Jesus; but in all actuality
Peter walked on the word "Come" as it was spoken by the word (St. John 1:1) which is above the authority of the sea, winds
and waves.
There will always be a point of surrender of something in our life at one time or another. This is when
a request of Christ could turn into a test of surrender if we resist the request. It doesn't mean that this is a place
where sin dwells, but it could be a place which is hindering us from moving to a higher realm in Christ. If God wants to
teach a lesson about our taking authority over the desires of the flesh let's not make the work so hard it becomes a stronghold
for the enemy to gain entrance into other areas of our faith. I have it on good authority that God will not take anything
from us we choose to hold onto, He may request we put away with it for it profiteth us no gain to the Kingdom; however, it
is up to us to surrender it over to Christ in obedience to the urging of the Holy Spirit. Quench not the Spirit when it wants
you to grow in Christ.
Thanks for your patience.
